I have dozens of software applications and utility apps running at many facilities. Every now and then I like to dabble with a few that I can offer to you free of charge.

General:

Mostly all of the apps tha I write run on any Windows box from Window95 to the most current Windows OS.

• Since I started coding, I've always been careful about not using anything that depends on the specific OS, or OS version .
  
• I don't even use the stock common dialogue box (the one that appears when you select FILE > OPEN in any Windows app). I'd rather write it all from scratch whenever I can.
  
• I don't write to the registry.
  
• I don't install supporting files with the app
  
• .... hell, I usually don't even include a SETUP.EXE to install the app.
  
• With that in mind, I can tell you that in the X number of years that I have been writing code, not a single application has failed to run on any Windows OS from Windows 3.1 to the most current Windows OS. I believe that it is because I keep it very simple.

Cost:

It's free. There's no catch or anything like that. As with all of my free software, I appreciate an e-mail from you telling me that you are using it.

About The Software:

• No installation is required
  
• It adds no files to your system other than the Executable that you download and place.
  
• The software adds no DLL or other files to your system. Your system should include all required supporting files. If not, simply Google for any DLL or other supporting files in which you get a "missing file" error for.
  
• It adds nothing to the system registry
  
• It contains no spyware, or virus, or anything bad.
  
• It's free for use (I appreciate e-mail)
  
• Installation is usually as simple as downloading a ZIP file, placing the .EXE file into a directory, and creating a shortcut to it.

Featured Software:

The JOE CURCIO (who is not even Chinese) FORTUNE TELLER:
Finally a FORTUNE TELLER app that YOU CAN WRITE THE FORTUNES for. The app already comes with a ton of serious and really funny fortunes. However, you can write, add, or remove as many fortunes as you wish. This is a great office gag app. A great app for teaching, etc. My original FORTUNE TELLER app was a BIG HIT and purchased by quite a few corporate groups who had me customize the interface with their logo and info and write some corporate encouraging fortunes as well. This one is as cool, and includes a clock too !

 THE SHELL GUY:
The shell guy makes it easy for you to access your frequently used applications or stuff that is otherwise a pain in the butt to find (character map, paint, calculator, etc.). You configure it for what you need to access. I use it everyday. I place it in my Startup, and keep it minimized in my tray for easy access to my frequently used applications.

AUTOMATED MP3 BATCH TAGGER:
The Automated MP3 Batch Tagger is the perfect tool for adding TAGS (meta data) to a number of MP3 files at once. The software adds TITLE, ARTIST, ALBUM, YEAR, COMMENTS, and GENRE to all files in a selected directory. The AUTOMATION & MOVE TO features allow you to set how often you would like to have a tag job run on a directory. Once the files are tagged they can be moved to a "safe" directory so that the next batch of files can be added to the "tagging" directory for the next tagging cycle

MIND FIRE - SELF STUDY VIRTUAL EDUCATOR:
Repetition is one of the most basic learning techniques. Infants use it to learn to speak. Athletes use it to perfect athletic skills. MIND FIRE allows you to program the curriculam (Questions, Answers, and Images), refferred to as "THE STUDY" . MIND FIRE then allows the user to learn by viewing the study at their own leisure and pace. You can create an unlimited amount of studies on any topic, from basic skills in Mathematics, English, etc to complicated studies in Engineering, Finance, etc. The STEP function allows the user to view the study by pressing a button to move forward or back, or use the AUTOMATED feature to allow the app to step through the study at a predetermined "slideshow" like interval. This version of the app comes with 2 studies (FOOTBALL, and MP3 COMPRESSION) .... but you can roll as many of your own as you like. Maybe I'll create a few and make them available on this site for you.

STRING REPLACER:
When you need to change or correct file names, or replace file extensions, STRING REPLACER is the tool of choice. The example in the screenshot shows that a previous process had added the extension ".bad" to the XML files in a directory. When the issue was corrected, all of those XML files needed to be named correctly. STRING REPLACER did it with a few quick clicks.
