The power-pop quintet CARTEL spend their sophomore release recording time in a giant transparent bubble on Pier 54 in New York City. A state of the art recording studio and twenty-three bubble-cams keep an eye and ear on the Georgia boys while they eat, sleep, record and hopefully offer up some sex, and rock & roll for the MTV & Dr. Pepper reality lovers. Bobby "Boris" Pickett - One Hit Wonder over and over and over - dead at 69:
Bobby Pickett, king of the multimillion selling single MONSTER MASH died of leukemia on April 25 in Los Angeles. He was 69 years old. Rejected by four major labels, the multi year hit was penned in 30 minutes, recorded in 2 hours, and featured the then unknown piano player named Leon Russell. His Mash debuted in 1962, and again in August 1970, and again in May 1973.  Pickett, when interviewed by People magazine said of his ghoul-tune: "When I hear it, I hear a cash register ringing."
