Little Sister | The vocal growl brings lots of passion and texture to
this track. The lyrical and musical hooks are firmly accounted for in the arrangement.
There is Roots/Rock tone to this track though the lyric content and vocals bring in a
Rock/Pop form with a classic sensibility. |
Free To Fly | What a thought-provoking lyric. Melodically this is
solid. It seems as if you have a good understanding of song structure and format as each
section compliments the other well. I also was impressed by the intricate vocal
arrangements to the backgrounds. Your songs have great form, Joe. The song structure
showcases an understanding of the Pop format Beautiful
melody, lovely vocal. You have a lovely feel for song structure and your melody is
thoughtfully written. Keep developing your ideas here. Great work so far! Great potential
here |
I Want I Am | An intriguing, catchy melody with a strong dynamic
build and release into your chorus! There's a lot to like here. You've got a fresh,
powerful theme that makes this song stand out in a crowd. The memories are vivid, plenty
of strong imagery here! "There is something kind of intriguing about this song" "..definitely some moving lyrical phrases & themes....." "A chronicle of time reflected in the lyrics of history...." "..Jagger meets Incubus and an 8 of 10 in Production, Lyric, & Lead Vocal" "I DO want people to hear this ... it's sad, it's real, it's
timely ..." |
Find Yourself | A great rhythm to support the assured vocal delivery.
The rhythms persist and bring a determined presence into the song. The vocals on this song
usher in a good use of emotional tone and texture that helps to build the character
development for the narrators as well as pushing the story line along nicely. The
arrangements and musicianship are solid. I like how you build up the vocal arrangement, so that the final chorus has all of the overlapping parts. Lyrically, "Take a second to see what's first" is a fantastic line! The melodies are nice and catchy, especially in the chorus. There are some very well-written elements here - Best, and keep writing! |
Where Were You From The Start | The sound has great clarity and the playing is tight. The vocal performance has confidence and color. |
On Fire Now | |
Soldiers On The Run | This song has a feeling of political dissatisfaction that is easy to relate to. The lyrics evoke a feeling with their descriptive words. Your themes are cerebral and intelligent. |
Karamu (The Kwanzaa Song) | A bit reminiscent of some Peter Gabriel tracks. I
enjoyed the vibe of the playing on and the idea behind, Karamu (The Kwanzaa Song). It had
an appealing trance-y quality and a cool underlying groove. The sentiment clearly
expressed in the lyrics was benevolent and life-affirming. I like the fact that this is an
educational lyric coupled with a nice dance groove; kids can dance and learn from it at
the same time. This may have potential for a younger demographic |
Family Tree | The vocals on this track are exceptional. The melody is
really good. The arrangement is clever and show a professional level of talent. Your song
writing talent is apparent. |
Goodbye Goodtyme | The warmth of the narrators delivery brings a Pop feel
and form into this track. Sound recording is well produced and delivered |
Hey Little Cutie |
This is Outkast's little brother. A pleasant piece of
eccentricity. Makes you want to be part of the party. Sly Stone in the making. Quickly
becomes the one you go to when making a mix of your favorite songs for your iPod This is a really good novelty song. I was in stitches. Its definitely given off that Biz Markie vibe. Digital Underground also come in to mine This concept is very good you definitely have talent in this area The production is good and the arrangement is on point. Your sound is broadcast quality This song has a great sense of humor. The chorus has a solid hook. Your melodic themes in the choruses are solid and memorable. The rapped part of the verses have a Beastie Boy appeal and some of the back up vocals "You make me fee like a..." are terrific

Trippin' |
Sometimes a song transcends its unusual presentation
simply on the strength of its message and applicability. Has old school Philly soul
elements that makes it very classic..A cross between Marvin Gaye & Shuggy Otis. Such a
cool vibe. The lyric is focused and has plenty of attitude! Very catchy, a very strong
lyric that works well for the teen pop genre. A very memorable chorus hook being just one
of the more tasty elements. I think that you're really on to something with
"Trippin". I think it could be a hit |
'Till The Weatherman Frowns | I think these tracks show a lot of potential and I like
that there's a unique vibe and style to your music. I do think you have something
interesting going on with your music, song-writing, sense of melody and the general vibe
and sound of your tracks. A funky, soulful vibe with even a touch of Hip Hop influence.
Your song-writing chops are solid. |
Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep | I like your feel, arrangement, and the jazz pop
influences ...... this melody even reminds me a little of Sting. The expression has a
sweetness and genuineness. The melodies are catchy and memorable...echoes of the great
Stevie Wonder classic "sunshine of my life", in groove, spirit, & lullaby
-esque quality. Verse melody is nice in phrasing - very fluid with interesting chord
changes -- classic pop! |
Pocket Rocket | This is a straight forward, yet clever & racy
lyric. A racy club song from a male perspective. I can admire your effort here, creating a
racy club song for a younger, modern audience Like vocals George Clinton got out of Parliment. Your style is hot, really unique and I think it will sell records under the right circumstance. You have skills above any scale. I think your writing is the bomb. Nice balanced groovy track, not overcooked. I can see this becoming an anthem with masses thronging on the dance floor singing along to the catchphrase of the day. |
