This over 10 minute, rare collectible, 4-part recording was created as an experimental spoken word project by a Greenpoint artist known only as the Virtual Greenpoint Comic using a speech simulator. It's like Stephen Hawking doing stand-up comedy! It's completely RAW, UNCUT, and ALL ABOUT GREENPOINT! It covers everything from the Greenpoint Olympics, WASCO'S car, Greenpointers dislike of Sushi to memories of Meeker Avenue's old time gal BUNNY THE WHORE. A MUST HAVE for any Greenpointer.  It's HILARIOUS!

This Greenpoint based (rehearsed at Coyote Studio on N6th Street), hot AC classic/pop rock foursome opened for some of the major acts of the 90's, including Queen Latifah, Ugly Kid Joe, and The Spin Doctors. During their short tenure of NYC club dates, White Lie were regulars at The China Club, CBGB's, and the legendary Cat Club. Formed and influenced during a decade that included great rock bands such as Guns & Roses, Stone Temple Pilots, and Pearl Jam, White Lie features Greenpoint Brooklyn locals Joe Kirsch on lead vocals and guitar, Frankie Junior on bass, Carl Battista on guitar, and former Badfinger and 70s glam band Luger drummer Shayne Harris. The recording is state of the art production, with power vocals in these 2 radio ready hit singles. This is your A side, B side MP3 version of a 90's classic vinyl 45 without all the hiss & clicks.

This is a VERY special find, and LIMITED RELEASE of a modern day American Anthem performed by US Army war veteran, and native Greenpointer, John Curcio. A former Sony/BMG executive described Sweet Home America as follows:

"...This song has amazingly huge potential with its slow, methodic, driven cadence, through strong vocals to the last words of the song - She's World's Youngest Heart, America -  where the listeners have no choice but to raise to their feet in thunderous applause!..."

John Curcio has been featured on CBS FM radio, worked with national acts such as The Exotics, Egg Cream Revival, and The Rhythm Express. His natural vocal artistry and power rank amongst the likes of Tom Jones, Johnny Maestro, Engelbert Humperdink, and the small handful of vocalist who make up the classic lead singers of our time - known to his local peers as one of the best lead vocalist in Brooklyn, John's 70's releases (Wildflower, and What A Difference A Day Makes) filled Greenpoint bar juke boxes from Manhattan Avenue to Olive Street!

In 1998 The Welcome To Greenpoint website (www.GreenpointUsa.com) released the TD Marlo book (manuscript) called "Welcome To Greenpoint". It was the first book published about Greenpoint in over 45 years. A ton of them were sold, and given away to WTG contributors. Today, the book is actually in the reference material of the main Greenpoint library and the main Brooklyn Library headquarters. It has been OUT OF PRINT for years, and has even been seen on ebay selling for $100 !

FOR A LIMITED TIME GreenPointMusic.com has secured the rights to RELEASE THE COMPLETE TD MARLO MANUSCRIPT IN ELECTRONIC FORM !

TD Marlo's "Welcome To Greenpoint" includes material that had been published by the likes of "BROOKLYN BRIDGE MAGAZINE", "WATERFRONT WEEK", and of course, "THE GREENPOINT GAZETTE".........

It's a MUST HAVE for all Greenpointers! The book has captured moments in time in our beloved neighborhood that will surely be part of Greenpoint history (actually it already is because it's in the library!). It's also bound to stir up happy memories of your happy days in good 'ole Greenpoint.

AshBoxClay is certainly a familiar Greenpoint alphabetical street sequence and this track feels just as familiar as the latest hits from your Hot Modern Rock faves, from Snow Patrol to MGMT! Long before The Jonas Brothers, there was the well known Greenpoint Holtzen Boys , better known as AshBoxClay. They combine a unique blend of guitar pop with a touch of synthetic rhythms. Produced by local band mates Joe Curcio and Carl Battista for submission to a high profile A&R group, and recorded in the heart of Greenpoint, this track will at least give you the bragging rights of "I heard it first".  Due to pending publishing agreements, this track is under LIMITED RELEASE, and will be pulled from the site based on the finalized contract agreement.

A combination of African Celebration Rhythms, Disney-esque production technique, in the midst of a communal PARTY song! A bit reminiscent of some Peter Gabriel tracks, you'll love the vibe and trance-y quality of its cool underlying groove. The sentiment expressed in the lyrics is TOTALLY life-affirming. Chamadeen tracks have held Top 10 and Top 100 chart positions on some of the most popular Internet based music sites including GarageBand.com and Broadjam.com.   Karamu was featured on YouTube.com during the Barack Obama inaugural celebration.  PS: The educational lyric coupled with a nice dance groove makes it music that kids can dance to and learn from it at the same time - Download this feel-good song, pop in the ear buds, and celebrate life.

Description:
Between 2001 and 2003, TD Marlo, local Greenpointer, and author of the popular manuscript "Welcome To Greenpoint", was prompted to create a series of computer art prints to be used to raise funds and bring attention to various local issues and causes. During a time when digital photography, and scanning was in its infancy, Marlo combed the Greenpoint community in search of the landmark images and visual icons that made up the heart of his beloved neighborhood.

Amongst the many images that he had documented were St. Anthony's Church and Georges Variety store (now closed) on Manhattan Avenue, St. Cecilia's church on North Henry Street, the Greenpoint Terminal Warehouse on West Street, and The Brooklyn Union gas tank towers (now demolished) on Vandervoort Avenue, The Winthrop Park Angel statue, and even the Calyer Street hot-dog wagon.

TD Marlo took those images and digitally enhanced them using early computer techniques  such as layering, softening, digital water coloring, etc. The final images were stunning, and unique.

The "Greenpoint's St Anthony" image included the church's magnificent structure seemingly floating in the clouds of heaven against a moody yellow, blue, and pink sky.

The "Georges" print was a compilation of images that showed the famous variety store (established in 1938, and now closed) nestled in computer layered blades of McCarren Park grass, being travelled upon by the digitally placed locals. In the distance is an image of the Winthrop Park Angel statue. In the foreground, the Calyer Street Hot-Dog man leaning back reading a newspaper. All centered around an American flag in the window, and enhanced with a digitally generated water color painting technique.

The "Changes" image is another computer layered, and digitally water colored combination of images showing the landmark Greenpoint Terminal Warehouse, and St Cecilia's Church with the now demolished Brooklyn Union Gas tank towers hovering above in the clouds,  against the beautifully layered west sky.

This package includes 3, print ready, color, 8.5" X 11" PDF files. Each image is centered on a white background, with matte lines, the print title, creation date, and the artist name (TD Marlo). The prints can be trimmed to be suitable for 8X10 or 5X7 framing.
